This expedition is more than a world‑record attempt, it’s a reminder of what can happen when people come together with purpose to push the boundaries. This creates belief and belief creates change.
Donations will be going 100% towards the charities, which will then be split 50/50 between the two. The link to the fundraiser can be found here.
Our Cause
Our Charities
Rays of Sunshine is a national charity that brightens the lives of seriously ill young people and their families by granting wishes and providing ongoing support in hospital and within the community
A Day for Thorpey celebrates the life and legacy of Graham Thorpe, the late England and Surrey cricketer. Funds raised from this will go towards their Thorpey’s Bat & Chat program, which is part of Mind.
Support Includes:
Sunshine in Hospitals: Their hospital team delivers sunshine to children up and down the country currently receiving treatment in hospitals.
Granting Magical Wishes: Wishes can be as unique as the children themselves. Rays of Sunshine works hard to make that come true.
Bat and Chat is a 12-week programme combining cricket sessions with guided psychoeducation to support mental health and wellbeing.
Increasing Awareness: By raising awareness, they hope to start the conversation and reduce the shame and the stigma that there is around them.
Why we’re partnering with each charity?
Rays of Sunshine
This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for us all which we are very fortunate to be able to set out on. We hope that the funds we raise can help bring magical ideas to life and provide the suppport necccesary for the families.
A Day for Thorpey
A Day for Thorpey supports our aim to remove the stigma around talking about mental health and to highlight the wider benefits of cricket.
The climb reflects the uphill battles many face every day, and taking this challenge on together lets us promote honest conversations and the value of looking out for each other.
Our Charitable Roots
Sixes in the City began as a charity cricket tournament between groups of friends, and over the years those events have raised more than £11,500 for causes that matter to us.
That spirit of coming together, doing good, and using cricket as a force for connection has always been at the heart of what we do.
As we’ve grown up and moved into new chapters of life, this challenge is our way of keeping that tradition alive - not just maintaining our charitable roots, but amplifying them.
The world‑record attempt is simply the next evolution of the same idea: friends uniting around cricket to create impact, raise money, and do something unforgettable for others.
